Who is this for?
This business purpose relates to operating or working in paintball. Playing at an approved range has a separate framework and does not itself require the player to obtain an operator’s firearms licence.
Which category is needed?
An operator needs Category A before applying for registration as a paintball operator. Operator registration and approval of the range are additional requirements.
What evidence is needed?
The operator application includes business and range details, plans, occupancy evidence, insurance, council approval, range rules and storage arrangements. Use the full official list to prepare an application.
How do you apply?
Arrange the relevant Category A application and contact Firearms Services for the operator and range process. An employee’s duties also need to comply with the paintball employment requirements.
