What does this purpose cover?
The applicant must show that a firearm is necessary for their security business or employment. The current form labels security work 6A; older guidance may refer to reason 6 or H6.
What evidence is needed?
Provide the relevant security licence and evidence of the employer or business, your duties and why those duties require a firearm. The documentation differs for a security agent and a security guard.
How do you apply?
Use the current application and security requirements, and confirm the category and training needed with Firearms Services. The occupation and its actual duties determine the application.
What are the conditions?
Security use of Category H has restrictions concerning the pistol, its employer ownership and ammunition. It does not provide a general personal-protection entitlement.
