Who can apply?
Professional shooters whose principal or sole occupation is controlling vertebrate pest animals, or people employed in, by, or authorised by a prescribed government agency with relevant functions.
Which categories may be relevant?
A, B, C or D may be sought, subject to category-specific justification. Doing occasional pest control does not by itself establish the professional-occupation requirement.
What evidence is needed?
Provide evidence of the work and your role. Police guidance includes income or taxation records for professional shooters and a business letter describing the occupation and work. Government applicants need evidence of the qualifying role or authorisation.
Applying and conditions
Explain your genuine need for the requested category. Category C additionally requires showing that A/B or other means cannot meet it. Follow the conditions attached to the approved activity and firearm.
